The leftover curry has been in the fridge for four days. It smells fine. It looks fine. Your stomach, your wallet and your sense of self-preservation hold a brief and tense meeting.

Why it caught on: the picture is a panel from a comic by Jake Clark, whose name sits in the corner, showing a sweating man forced to choose between two red buttons. Posted on Tumblr and later reused with the button labels replaced, it became the standard way to show two bad or equally tempting options, and it spread because everyone has a choice they can't make.
