Your housemate announces a "full kitchen reset" on Sunday. By Tuesday there is one clean pan, a bin bag by the door, and a tension in the flat that three people can feel and nobody will mention.
Someone suggests a musical version of a thing that did not need one. The group chat goes quiet. Then somebody says "honestly, I'd watch it", and the pitch meeting is already over.
Your friend describes a film you haven't seen as "slow, but worth it". It runs three hours. You check your phone twice, sigh once, and say "that was brilliant" in the car park with great conviction.

Why it caught on: the picture is a close-up film still of a man in a brimmed hat, staring with great seriousness, and it is named after *Oppenheimer*, the 2023 Christopher Nolan film that came out in July alongside *Barbie* in the "Barbenheimer" double bill. People used the still as a poster template, putting any title over it. A grave face makes everything look like an awards contender, or a terrible idea taken far too seriously.
